Materials:

I 5.50mm Crochet Hook

Worsted Weight Yarn

  • 150 Yards White
  • 350 Yards Red

Yarn needle

Gauge:

7 stitches = 2 inches

Stitches:

CH: Chain- Yarn over pull through one loop.

SS: Slip stitch- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over and pull through both the stitch and loop on the hook.

DC: Double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through two loops.

SC: Single crochet- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops.

HDC: Half double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through three stitches.

Instructions:

White:

Magic Ring

Round 1: Chain 1. 10 Hdc. Join with a ss to the first Hdc made. (10)

Round 2 Chain 1. 2Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made (20)

Round 3: Chain 1. *2Hdc. Hdc.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (30)

Round 4: Chain 1. *2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (40)

Round 5: Chain 1. *2 Hdc. Hdc in the next 3 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (50)

Switch to Red

Round 6: Chain 2. Dc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (50)

Round 7: Chain 2. *FPDC around the next stitch. Dc in the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (50)

Round 8: Chain 2. *Dc in the next stitch. FPDC around the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (50)

Round 9 – 20: Repeat Rounds 7 – 8.

Heel (white):

Row 1: Chain 1. Sc in the next 16 stitches.

Row 2: Chain 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 12 stitches. Sc2tog. (14)

Row 3: Chain 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 10 stitches. Sc2tog. (12)

Row 4: Chain 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 8 stitches. Sc2tog. (10)

Row 5: Chain 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 6 stitches. Sc2tog. (8)

Row 6: Chain 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 4 stitches. Sc2tog. (6)

Row 7: Chain 1. 2 Sc. Sc in the next 4 stitches. 2 Sc. (8)

Row 8: Chain 1. 2 Sc. Sc in the next 6 stitches. 2 Sc. (10)

Row 9: Chain 1. 2 Sc. Sc in the next 8 stitches. 2 Sc. (12)

Row 10: Chain 1. 2 Sc. Sc in the next 10 stitches. 2 Sc. (14)

Finish off leaving semi-long tail. (This tail will be used to sew half of the heel closed

Stocking Leg (Red):

Join with a SS to the 17th stitch of round 20. (This will be the next stitch following the heel stitches.)

Round 1: Chain 2. *Fpdc. Dc.* Repeat from * to * 17 x’s. Dc in the next 16 stitches of heel. Join with a SS to the first Dc made.

Round 2: Chain 2. *Dc in the next stitch. FPDC around the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (50)

Round 3: Chain 2. *FPDC around the next stitch. Dc in the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (50)

Round 4 – 23: Repeat rounds 2 -3.

Round 24: Chain 1. Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made.

Round 25 – 30: Chain 1. Hdc in the 3rd loop around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (50)

Finish off. Sew Heel.
