Stitches:

CH: Chain- Yarn over pull through one loop.

SS: Slip stitch- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over and pull through both the stitch and loop on the hook.

DC: Double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through two loops.

SC: Single crochet- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops.

CDC: Crochet double crochet- Yarn over. Skip the first stitch. Insert hook into next stitch. Yarn over and draw up loop. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull trough two loops. Working backwards insert hook into the stitch that you skipped. Yarn over draw up loop. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through two loops.

Instructions:

Chain in multiples of 14 + 4.

Row 1: Dc in the 3rd chain from hook. Dc in the next 4 chains. *Dc2tog. Dc2tog. Dc in the next 4 chains. 2 Dc in the next 2 chains. Dc in the next 4 chains.* Repeat from * to * across. Making 2 Dc in the final Chain.

(See image below) Row 2: Chain 2. Dc in the same stitch. 2 Crossed Dc over the next 4 stitches. *Crossed Dc2tog. Crossed Dc2tog. 2 Crossed Dc over the next 4 stitches. [Dc in the next stitch. Dc in the previously worked stitch.] x’s. 2. 2 Crossed Dc over the next 4 stitches.* Repeat from  * to * across. Make 2Dc in the top of turning chain.

Row 3: Chain 2. Dc in the same stitch. Dc in the next 4 stitches. *Dc2tog. Dc2tog. Dc in the next 4 stitches. 2 Dc in the next 2 stitches. Dc in the next 4 stitches.* Repeat from * to * across. Making 2 Dc in the top of the turning chain.

Repeat Rounds 2 and 3 to desired length.
