I 5.50mm Crochet

Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn (Approx 200 yards)

Yarn needle

7 stitches = 2 inches

Stitches:

CH: Chain- Yarn over pull through one loop.

SS: Slip stitch- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over and pull through both the stitch and loop on the hook.

SC: Single crochet- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops.

DC: Double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through two loops.

HDC: Half double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through three stitches.

Instructions:

*Note: Turning Chain does not count as a stitch so don’t forget to work in the same stitch as join!*

Magic Ring

Round 1: Chain 1. 10 Hdc. Join with a ss to the first Hdc made. (10)

Round 2 Chain 1. 2Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made (20)

Round 3: Chain 1. *2Hdc. Hdc.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (30)

Round 4: Chain 1. *2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (40)

Round 5: Chain 1. *2 Hdc. Hdc in the next 3 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (50)

Round 6: Chain 1. *2 Hdc. Hdc in the next 4 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (60)

Round 7: Chain 1. *2 Hdc. Hdc in the next 5 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made.

Round 8: Chain 1. *Sc. Skip the next 2 stitches. 5Dc in the next stitch. Skip the next 2 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made.

Round 9: Chain 2. *5Dc. Skip the next 2 stitches. Sc. Skip the next 2 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made.

Round 10: SS into the next 3 stitches (this will put you in the center of the shell). Chain 1.  *Sc. Skip the next 2 stitches. 5Dc in the next stitch. Skip the next 2 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made.

Round 11 – 16: Repeat rounds 9 – 10

On round 16 I made Hdc instead of Sc between each shell to make the round more even.

Round 17: Chain 1. *2Hdc. Hdc.* repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made.

Round 18 – 21: Chain 1. Hdc around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made.

Finish off. Weave in ends.
